Had to throw a couple of new pictures up. The first was when I was trying to do laundry and I had a grumpy boy who wanted to be picked up NOW. I put him in the laundry basket and dumped the clothes from the dryer on him. Then I carried the basket with him down the hallway to show Daddy what I "found" in the laundry. Lots of giggles!
Then we've got our smiley little reason for Thanksgiving!
This next picture didn't turn out as good as I wanted. I wasn't as quick to grab the camera as I'd like. Brian was coming home and the dogs got all excited, as usual when they heard the garage door go up. Tynan decided to see what they were doing. So just before Brian opened the door, both dogs were sitting and looking at the door and so was Ty!
The last couple pictures is my new favorite thing. It actually gets me (and Brian!) up before 8:00 on a Saturday morning. For about a year, I've had friends talk about how much they LOVED something called Bountiful Baskets. They kept telling me what an amazing deal it is and how it's fun it is to get each week. So about a month ago, I decided I needed to try it out.
It's a local fruit & veggie co-op that skips the store. You order a basket on Tuesday or Wednesday each week online and pay $15 for the basic basket, and then there are add ons if you want. Each week, the baskets are totally different, so you have no idea what you're going to get. When you order you pick where you want to pick it up. There are like 30 different places to go in the valley, but the one I use is only about 10 minutes away at a park. I was pretty much amazed at the amount of stuff I got for $15, and everything was so fresh! I've been planning our meals around what we get, and so far we've been really good about not letting much go to waste. I think we've had to throw out a little bit of lettuce and a couple potatoes. I usuallly don't really enjoy cooking (at all) but I've been really enjoying finding recipes to use things in and plan our meals each week. It's been great.
The first picture is my basic basket for the week. For $15 we got: strawberries, apples, oranges, pears, bananas, 2 small watermelon, lettuce, broccoli, yellow squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, and green peppers! What's amazing is this is the smallest basket we've gotten. Usually there are some potatoes and onions in there too.
This last picture is the Mexican pack add on that I got this week. For $7.50 I got flour totillas, cilantro, garlic, tomatillos, green onions, yellow onions, avocado, limes, and a couple different kinds of jalapeno.
